Where (and more importantly what) is Hell?

I was doing research on zip codes, and cross checking with yahoo maps. I ran into Hell, Michigan, over by Gregory and Pinckey. It doesn't appear to have a USPS zip code. Is this unincorporated territory? A part of some other town (like Pinckey)? A neighborhood? Or what? I plugged in an address into Google Maps, and got Pinckey.



Just to confuse, the hand is often use for an ad hoc map of lower Michigan with the fingers pointing up. But Pinckey isn't anywhere near the fingers. It's firmly in the palm.



If Michigan had a place called "tongue", i'm sure it would be in a town or at least county called "cheek", geographically speaking.

Hell, Michigan is an unincorporated community in Putnam Township of Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is near the border with Washtenaw County, about 15 miles northwest of Ann Arbor. Hell is situated five miles west of Pinckney via Patterson Lake Road. The community is served by the Pinckney post office with ZIP Code 48169. The unofficial population is 266.

Hell is in Michigan, but Hell For Certain is in Kentucky.
