I'm trying to find a map to the night stars using MY location (zip code) can anyone help me?
***RANT***
Most sites that have lats and longs have an arbitrary city nearby but never MY city. This is figgen Houston, Texas...4th largest city in the USA and I can't find it's lats and longs....crazy.I want to find my own latitude and longitude for my neighborhood!?
hey download google earth, and type in your adress and it will show u a pic of ur house and the lat lon too . i think so if i can remeber right but ya it should.
Go in the link down ther and look down load either one
I was able to get this result:
Houston, Harris County, Texas (longitude W95.4, latitude N29.8)
at this site:

This is the site for the US Naval Observatory. It's designed to give rising and setting times for the Sun and Moon, but it also gives Lat-Long data for your town. It's easy to use, and unlike Google Earth you don't have to download or install anything.
In "Form A", just select "Texas" in the first drop-down list, type in "Houston" below that, and hit the "Get Data" button. The display will then show the info I listed above, along with sunrise/sunset times for the current date.
Good luck!I want to find my own latitude and longitude for my neighborhood!?
Why don't you go to google earth and find your location and point the mouse cursor there. You will get the exact latitude and longitude.I want to find my own latitude and longitude for my neighborhood!?
Two quick free sources: the TV Channel weather-forecast sign-ups usually give that. So will astronomy sites.
Go on Google earth. Good luck.
Houston, Texas - Latitude 29掳 45' 47" N Longitude 95掳 21' 47" W
