Is it safe to give out your home address on xbox live ?

I got this Gears of War 2 map pack and when I entered the code, it asked me couple questions but one of them said enter my address, city, state and zip code. Is it ok to give it out because it is kinda weird that what do you need the address for when getting the map pack? it doesn't really make sense.Is it safe to give out your home address on xbox live ?
Its fine as long as its an established company like microsoft or epic games. Its probably just to make sure you are who you say you are, and so they can send you mailing updates on their latest games, downloads, etc.Is it safe to give out your home address on xbox live ?
