Google Maps, GeoCoding, and Distance based on Zip Codes?

I am having a difficult time finding information on a good API to use for my coding explorations and client sites.



I need to find a way to obtain surrounding zip codes based on a user submitted zip code. Ideally, I would like to be able to find address locations based on a starting location and within a distance.



Finally, I would love to tie this into a Google Map.



Anyone find any free API's that can solve this for me?
