Does anyone know of a good script for online store inventory based on location?



I'm trying to find an ap that preferably ties into Google Maps where the user enters a zip code to search a database to find locations in the area based on product inventory鈥aybe even within a user defined distance of the entered zip code. There would need to be an admin area where locations could be added individually or maybe even through a csv upload.

First of all, a "script" can be many things:

But if you are talking about something written in a "scripting language", then that is something else. Those types of scripts allow control of one or more software applications. "Scripts" are distinct from the core code of the application, which is usually written in a different language, and are often created or at least modified by the end-user.



Secondly, this would require a major application and an extensive database system. To even have this working for a single vendor with multiple store locations would require that all stores upload their sales immediately to a central server. Otherwise, when a store sold out of a particular product early in the day, the database and application would still be showing the store as having that product available.



Do not even think about having something like this work for several different vendors.



You are better off having this developed exclusively for you so that you know exactly what you are getting and that it will do everything you want it to do.

But, as I always advise software buyers, "If you want to get a system that caters exactly with your requirements have developers do it for you." It usually takes more time to get it but it does not only cost less but gives you what you really want. Also, you can always have developers add and improve features for future expansion.
