I would like to add a state/region/zip code location page or link to my website. I am having trouble finding the right software. I would like my customers to enter their zip code/state/city and have the location entered and filed...like a job search? anyone know what this type of software is called and who has the best?Where to find map/zipcode software?
You might want to look at some of the government data sites that should have geospatial files and tables linking state/region/zip codes. Try USGS, the US Postal Service, or some of the US government data clearinghouse site. At that point, you can write a back end servlet or service that handles looking up the information based on what they enter.Where to find map/zipcode software?
USPS sells their zipcode database. Some companies sell databases with the USPS zipcode database and additional information. http://www.populardata.com/downloads.htm鈥?/a> has a free one.
